Denial

People often have trouble believing or accepting the fact that they or their loved ones have cancer. For many, this is a defence mechanism to cope with the shocking revelation of their diagnosis.

What is the date of the campaign?

The campaign has started already and will run annually going forward.
The Mt Kilimanjaro annual event is on the 24th June 2019
Why should we get involved now?

Cancer affects everyone, either directly or indirectly. There is no better time than now to be part of the Family of Schools that Care. Your pledge will assist in funding one or more of CANSA’s many initiatives, such as cancer education and care and support programmes.

To date, the I Believe Foundation has used funds raised to finance eye prostheses for children who have lost an eye to cancer. Further funding will help the organisation to raise awareness about depression and suicide, to facilitate training and skills development programmes, and to help uplift people who are homeless or destitute.

Participating in this national campaign enhances the reputation of schools belonging to the Family of Schools that Care.
The aim of the WE CARE campaign is to get people, no matter how young, excited about helping others. The participation certificates serve to remind them of that experience for years to come.
Involvement in this campaign provides an excellent PR and marketing opportunity.

Students may contact CANSA about becoming involved in other voluntary activities to help people affected by cancer, while also enabling them to log hours for community service.

How much does it cost and will I need to outlay any money upfront?

The cost of participating in the activity is R50 per child, payable in advance.
The I Believe Foundation will print and supply the participation certificates.
The only items you will need to provide are Koki pens crayons and paint.

How much does the pre-school need to raise to qualify to have their pre-school crest/logo printed on the main banner or independent banner?

The cost of the crest/logo is determined by size and is calculated as follows:

= > R 3 000: Size A5 – I Believe Foundation or CANSA banner
= > R 5 000: Size A4 – I Believe Foundation or CANSA banner
